Although one could argue if we really did win WW2 considering the state of the country right now.

Johnson, an American with a clear-eyed perspective, doesn’t mince words: “Carbon reduction has become a religion for the UK, but even if Britain cuts its emissions to zero, it won’t make any difference to global CO2 levels.” This truth exposes the hollow core of the climate cult, where symbolic gestures trump real-world impact. Politicians from both Labour and Conservative sides have been “hugely negligent,” raiding the oil and gas sector with swingeing taxes over the past four years, crippling the North Sea’s once-vibrant ecosystem. Aberdeen, formerly a global hub of energy excellence, is being systematically dismantled, its potential “flushed down the toilet.” Contrast this with Johnson’s recent visit to Norway, where the shared geology fuels a “drill, baby, drill” ethos, unlocking vast reserves and fostering prosperity without apology. Why should Britain lag behind when hydrocarbons remain abundant and essential?

But here’s where the spark of inspiring hope ignites: this assault on the hydrocarbon industry isn’t inevitable, it’s reversible. By recognising CO2 not as a villain but as the essential building block of life, fuelling plant growth and human progress, we can reclaim the narrative. Hydrocarbons are the true heroes of modern civilisation, providing reliable, affordable energy that powers homes, industries, and innovations. Britain still relies on fossil fuels for 75% of its energy, yet imports 44% of it, the highest in decades, due to declining North Sea output. This dependency weakens the nation, hikes costs for citizens, and harms everyday families struggling with bills. Hunting’s strategic shift to the Middle East, including a new facility in Dubai, demonstrates corporate resilience, but it also highlights the opportunity: a revitalised UK policy could bring operations back, create jobs, and bolster energy security.

The cost of net zero is staggering and if the UK dropped it tomorrow we would take a massive step towards national prosperity.

The USA is moving in the right direction, so is New Zealand, will the UK wake up and start to realise net zero and the resulting decimation of industry isn’t necessary? Let’s hope so. Either way we will continue the fight for the minds of the people by bringing them the truth.
