£50m Geoengineering Experiment To Dim The Sun Set To Begin In A Few Weeks In The UK

Can anyone explain why we have been building all these solar panels if now we are going to try and send the sun’s rays back to space!?

In a move straight out of a sci-fi fever dream, the UK has greenlit a £50 million experiment to block out the sun in a bid to curb “runaway climate change.” The project, backed by the government and cloaked in eco-virtue, aims to deploy solar geoengineering—think spraying reflective particles into the stratosphere to bounce sunlight back into space. It’s like putting a giant parasol over Earth, except it’s wildly expensive and reeks of hubris.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get even more ridiculous than trying to remove carbon from the ocean, the made greenies have outdone themselves yet again. This recent development is a testament to the mountain we have to climb to educate the public on the truth about climate, warming and CO2. We have a lot of work to do. The Climate Con army works tirelessly at this mission!

The Advanced Research and Invention Agency (Aria) will announce the funded projects within weeks, making Britain one of the world’s biggest funders of geoengineering research. Professor Mark Symes, Aria’s programme director, confirmed there would be “small controlled outdoor experiments on particular approaches”.

2001 IPCC Report Proved Runaway Climate Change Near Impossible With Green House Gases

Let’s rewind to the 2001 IPCC Third Assessment Report, which threw cold water on this idea. It stated that geoengineering schemes like solar radiation management were speculative, fraught with “significant uncertainties” and “near impossible” to implement safely due to unpredictable impacts on weather, ecosystems, and global stability (IPCC, 2001, WGIII, Ch. 4). Fast forward to 2025, and we’re apparently ignoring that wisdom, chasing a techno-fantasy while sidestepping the report’s caution about unintended consequences—like screwing up rainfall patterns or ozone layers.
Now, here’s the kicker: mainstream climate narratives often hype CO2 as the ultimate villain, but more CO2 isn’t bad. Plants thrive on it, boosting crop yields and greening deserts—facts conveniently drowned out by alarmist dogma. The “settled science” crowd loves to push apocalyptic models, yet many overstate warming or cherry-pick data, ignoring natural climate variability or solar cycles. It’s not all bullshit, but the selective storytelling sure stinks.

Why Are We Building Solar Panels And Then Blocking Out The Sun?

Here’s where it gets absurd: we’re pouring billions into solar panels to capture sunlight, yet this project wants to bounce that same sunlight back into space. It’s like installing a state-of-the-art kitchen and then banning cooking. Solar energy’s a cornerstone of the “green transition,” with the UK aiming for 70 GW of solar capacity by 2035. Why undermine that by dimming the sun? The contradiction exposes a deeper flaw: policy-makers chasing flashy headlines over coherent strategy. None of it makes sense, until you see who is making money from all this, then it makes sense. Geoengineering’s a distraction when we could be doubling down on adaptation, energy innovation, or reforestation—solutions that don’t risk global collateral damage.

Pro-truth stance? We need to cut through the noise, not add to it. The climate is always changing and we need to figure out how to adapt to that and these issues deserve rigorous, open debate, not knee-jerk megaprojects that scream of desperation. Solar geoengineering’s a Pandora’s box—once opened, good luck closing it. Instead of playing god with the atmosphere we should be embracing warmer temperatures should they ever come. The amount of propaganda it must have taken to convice the UK population to not want it to be a bit warmer is staggering. The IPCC’s 2001 warnings still hold; ignoring them for a £50 million stunt is folly. Truth demands skepticism, not blind faith in techno-fixes that could burn us worse than the sun ever will.
