BP Rebel Against Net Zero And Ed Miliband And Reopen North Sea Oil Field

A big win for everyone who wants cheaper and more common sense energy

Ed Miliband has gone to war against North Sea drilling. Embarking on a crusade to do everything he can to stop the liquid gold from flowing and make sure we are all paying the price for it in higher electricity bills and an ever increasing cost of living. It can take a minute to explain to people that when the price of electricity goes up, everything goes up and the more we rely on ‘renewables’ the higher our prices go.

As The Climate Con Army we’ve taken it into our own hands to educate the world and this is a crucial issue we need to continually focus on. So when BP defy Ed Miliband and the climate cult at large and reopen an old oil field we should rejoice. It is a step in the right direction.

BP are reviving the Murlach field, which was declared financially unviable and taken out of use in 2004, and has now become viable partly due to new technologies, the technology itself is kept under wraps but involves improving the efficiency of extraction.

The milestone comes despite efforts by the Energy Secretary to bring an end to new fossil fuel production in the North Sea. Mad Miliband and his predecessors have almost doubled the taxation rate on oil and gas profits and banned the issuing of licences for new exploration and production.

“Murlach is expected to produce around 20,000 barrels of oil and 17 million cubic feet of gas per day,” BP said. This is set to be enough to keep the field in operation for at least another 11 years. Another 11 years of giving the finger to the climate cult. Great. I wonder if we ever will see any of this benefit the people at large. We need our bills to go down, saving lives and improving our standards of living in the process.

Climate Cult Spitting Feathers

As you can imagine this reopening of an oil field drives the climate cult even more insane. Environmental campaigners say BP and other energy companies should leave oil and gas in the ground. These people will not be satisfied until we’re all bankrupt living in cold dark rooms.

Dr Doug Parr, Greenpeace UK’s policy director, said: “The North Sea is on death’s door. Reserves are drying up and what’s left and untapped is barely enough to keep it on life support. The only sensible thing to do is to pivot [from] the North Sea to something we have an abundance of, and something that will never run out – wind.”

What a joke!? Has anyone told Doug that wind is the most expensive, unreliable and destructive form of energy we have available? Wind turbines suck. It is incredible how anyone can take themselves seriously whilst advocating for our ever increasing energy hungry society to rely on wind. Has Doug even taken a look at any of this massive amounts of data that prove how unviable wind power is? Probably not. Either that or part or maybe all of the gravy train flowing into green peace has its roots in the climate cult cess pit.

This isn’t the only oil field to come online again this year. Shell have also reopened its Penguins field north of Shetland even though the climate cult Greenpeace members boarding the new production vessel. One can hope one day Greenpeace will follow Just Stop Oil and, well, just stop. Until then the reeing will continue.

When we ground ourselves in reality of life, the demand for oil and gas isn’t going anywhere so we can either wear a delusional badge of misguided green virtue and buy oil and gas from other countries, or, extract as much as possible from our own reserves and improve the living standards of our people in the process. We could be like Norway and how they enjoy the prosperity of oil, not continually descending further down in our living standards to try and satisfy an insatiable climate cult.

Robin Allan, chairman of BRINDEX, which represents the UK’s smaller independent oil and gas producers, said: “There are significant oil and gas reserves and resources left in the UK North Sea but output is declining largely because of government policy, not geology.

“We need a policy which incentivises oil and gas exploration and production. The windfall tax should be removed immediately and the ban on exploration removed.”

A spokesperson for Ed Miliband and the climate cult has commented: “We are committed to delivering the manifesto commitment to not issue new licences to explore new fields because they will not take a penny off bills, cannot make us energy secure, and will only accelerate the worsening climate crisis.”

This is bullshit. Gaslighting of the highest degree. Someone needs to educate this spokesperson that the climate has always changed, there is no climate crisis, CO2 is not some deadly killer gas destined to doom us all and that we can enjoy the abundance of oil and gas and not have to destroy ourselves to meet the net zero fantasy.
