Another week, another modelled death toll rolled out to frighten the public.

A team from Imperial College London, the Met Office and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine claims more than 2,700 people “may have died” from heat-related causes in England and Wales in May and June. They estimate around 550 deaths in late May and nearly 2,200 in late June.

This figure is not based on actual death records. It comes from computer models using assumptions about the dangers of heat. In short, it is guesswork presented as science.

Real mortality data from the Office for National Statistics is not yet available and usually appears weeks later. Anyone serious about accuracy would wait for those figures instead of publishing model-driven scare stories.

The most distasteful element, however, is Professor Emily Shuckburgh using her own father’s death to push the climate narrative. Speaking on the BBC, she revealed her father suffered a stroke during the heatwave. She admitted there is no evidence it was heat-related, yet still claimed the incident “underlines the fact that these extreme heat events are costing lives today.”

This is emotional manipulation. Leveraging a personal family tragedy to advance a political argument, while conceding there is no proof of causation, is deeply inappropriate for someone in her position.

Even if ambulance delays played a role, that reflects pressures on emergency services, not proof that climate change was the decisive factor. Maybe stop letting in unlimited immigrants whilst building 0 infrastructure!? Another debate for another time, we’ll keep it climate for now.

The public is growing weary and savvy to the tricks of the climate cult which is probably why support for them is dropping. The widening gap between modelled hysteria and measured reality is one big reason why fewer people are still listening.
